Let your light shine through family, friendship and faith
“Enabling our whole school community to flourish and let their light shine, preparing them for their role as gentle and humble agents for change in the world we share.”
Dear Parents / Carers,
Kitchen Closure
Our kitchen will be closed for refurbishment for the next 2 weeks. During that period Dolce will offer sandwiches and jacket potatoes. The Dolce app has now been updated for this temporary situation over the next fortnight. The kitchen will reopen on Monday 23rd February.
Mitchell Arts Centre
Yesterday The Mitchell Arts Centre came to talk to us about their work and what they offer, and how children can get involved. We had a very enjoyable assembly with Meg from the centre and the children have all received a programme for upcoming events at the centre, and a free ticket to enjoy one of the films shown at the centre.
Spirituality Theme Day
Today the children are enjoying the first of 3 spirituality theme days which will be held over this and the next 2 half terms. Each of the days will consist 3 different activities. All children will take part in all 3 activities and we will complete the day by simply discussing the activities and how each one made us feel and which one we enjoyed the most and why. Today’s activities include making birdfeeders and bug hotels, sensory activities, and yoga and mindfulness activities.
Spring Term PTFA Disco’s
Discos will be held on Tuesday 24th February for Nursery, Reception and Year 1 from 4pm to 5pm, and on Wednesday 25th February for years 2, 3 and 4, from 4pm to 5.15pm. Please see attached poster for more information.
Records of Achievement Afternoon
Our Records of Achievement afternoon will take place on Friday 6th February. This time we are holding the afternoon in our school hall.
We are inviting parents / carers of Year 1 and Year 2 children between 1.30pm and 2.15pm and parents / carers of Year 3 and Year 4 children between 2.30pm and 3.15pm. All children will have breaktime at 2.15pm until 2.30pm. If you have a child in both key stages simply choose one of the sessions and work with both / all of your children in that session. Please arrive and leave at any time during the allotted session. We are asking that all Year 3 and 4 parents leave by 3.15pm so that we can begin our home time routine.
Once your Records of Achievement session has finished, whether it is the Year 1 and Year 2 session, or the Year 3 and Year 4 session, we are happy for you to take your children home at that time if you wish.
Parking
A polite reminder to drive and park carefully in the crescent and other areas around school. I continue to receive comments and complaints from residents, and some parents, in respect of parking across driveways or blocking pavements. Thank you for your co-operation.
Regards,
Mr J Gordon
